Privacy Policy

The short version
This site is a personal site. It has no contact form, no sign-up, no account, no newsletter and no shop, so there is nothing here that asks you for your name, address or anything else. The only information gathered is traffic measurement, and you can turn that off in your browser in a few seconds.
Who is responsible
David Huelsman, based in Gainesville, Florida, operates davidhuelsman.com and is responsible for the handling described here.
What is collected
Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, how long a visit lasts, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the site that referred you, and your device and browser type. It is set up to measure traffic rather than to identify people, and it is not linked to advertising.
Nothing else is collected. There is no form to submit, and no information about you is bought, sold, rented or shared for advertising — there is nothing to sell even if the wish existed.
Server logs
Like every web server, the host records the IP address, time and page of each request as part of running and securing the site. Those logs are used for that purpose and are not combined with analytics or used to build a profile of you.
Cookies
Two, both belonging to Google Analytics. The cookie policy names them, says how long they last, and explains how to refuse them.
Who else is involved
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
- DigitalOcean — hosting.
- Google Fonts — serves the typeface, which means your browser requests a file from Google when a page loads.
Pages here link out to Medium, Instagram, Crunchbase, Gator Water Polo and SwimTec. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy policy, and this one stops applying at that point.
How long anything is kept
Analytics data expires on Google's schedule, currently 14 months. Server logs rotate within weeks.
Your choices
To stop analytics entirely, block cookies for this site in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on, which works everywhere. If you want to know whether anything about you is held, write to coach@gatorwaterpolo.com and you will get a straight answer — the honest expectation is that the answer is nothing beyond an anonymous line in a traffic report.
Children
This site is written for coaches, parents and athletes and is not directed at children under 13, and nothing here knowingly collects information from them.
Changes
If any of this changes — a contact form, for instance — this page will be updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top will show when.
